A square of chocolate for breakfast is good for the cognitive faculties!

Starting your day with a small square of chocolate is something you can’t refuse! Especially when it is researchers from Syracuse University who recommend it.

The study was carried out by researchers at Syracuse University (New York State). It shows that eating a square of dark chocolate or having a dessert made from dark chocolate, in the morning, for breakfast, is beneficial for several reasons.

Benefits from flavonols

Cocoa is one of the foods richest in flavonols. These have many advantages: they preserve the heart by reducing blood pressure. They also act on memory, concentration, learning, etc.

Easter: eating chocolate in the morning would burn more fat!

Spanish researchers revealed that consuming chocolate for a short period after waking up could help the body burn more fat and lower blood sugar levels.

During this Easter weekend, young and old alike are tempted to enjoy chocolate for breakfast, as a snack, or even for dinner. But when is the best time to eat this cocoa and sugar product?

This is the question asked by scientists from the University of Murcia in Spain. To answer this, they decided to carry out a study, the results of which were published in The FASEB Journal.

“Consuming chocolate in the morning or the evening/night may have a different effect on energy balance and body weight due to changes in energy intake, substrate oxidation, microbiota, and variables related to circadian rhythm,” the researchers said. To learn more about the effects of eating chocolate at different times of the day, the authors recruited 19 postmenopausal women. For approximately two weeks, participants ingested either 100 g of chocolate in the morning (within an hour after waking up) or in the evening (within an hour before going to bed).

Eating a square of dark chocolate for breakfast also plays a role in hunger. This reduces ghrelin, the hunger hormone, and thus limits the urge to snack during the day.

There are only assets. But we said a square of dark chocolate, not a bar!

We knew it. Since the time we killed ourselves to repeat to anyone who wants to hear that brownies make us physically good, researchers have finally proved it! According to a scientific study, eating chocolate at breakfast is excellent for brain function.

As you’ve been told since childhood, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It must be balanced, so you may tend to exclude all chocolate sweets. Big mistake!

The Chocolate Trump Of Breakfast

Researchers at Syracuse University in the state of New York have conducted a very serious investigation into the subject. They conducted a study of about 1000 people under 30 years old. The guinea pigs were all questioned about their eating habits, and subjected to a series of cognitive tests.

And the results speak for themselves. After eating a piece of chocolate cake in addition to their usual breakfast, the brain works better. Brain activity is stronger and faster, memorization is easier, and organizational capacities have increased.

The Beneficent Molecules Of Chocolate

This is one more reason to love chocolate. Several studies have shown in the past that cocoa is good for health (thanks to iron in particular), but also for morale. This is now proof that it allows better functioning of our brain.

In the question, there is a particularly learned and ingenious association of molecules. On the one hand, there is the flavonoid that makes up 20% of cocoa and stimulates our brains. We must also rely on Theobromine and the caffeine molecules it contains.

Be careful; these brain benefits are only valid with dark chocolate. No offense to lovers of milk chocolate and spreads.
