Fashion Week isn’t just about designers putting on a show. It’s also the fall and winter 2024–2025 fashion trends that are on show. Strong pieces, colors of the season, and fashion accessories provide a breakdown of the winter fashion trends spotted on the catwalks.

What’s good about Fashion Week at the beginning of the year is that we prepare for the next fall-winter fashion trends in spring. The opportunity to anticipate next season’s must-haves and fill our wardrobes with all our favorites spotted on the catwalk.

Decryption of the fashion shows for a real insight into the new fall/winter 2024-2025 fashion trends, in preview.

The winter wardrobe welcomes fashion details that make all the difference. XXL fringes, sequins, oversized cuts—winter looks are going big.

The bomber jacket, which had already attempted a comeback last season, is officially back on the catwalk and soon in our wardrobes. And the trench coat is also there in daring new interpretations. Next season, you will have to adopt it in a leather version. The oversized blazer, the wide parka, and the cropped jacket will also be on the program. Also note the cape coat, which is making a very successful comeback.

Another winter wardrobe essential is the low-waisted dress. Dressed with ruffles at the bottom, this proposal renews the winter dress proposal. The skirt, for its part, takes on the appearance of a pareo on certain shows, sequinned mini-skirts on others, and long bohemian skirts on others.

Another fashion detail that will be a game-changer this season: is a pair of socks and knee-highs. But not just any. Ankle-high or sequined, these two proposals slip into sandals or heeled babies and are approached as accessories in their own right.

Trendy colors for fall and winter 2024-2025

One thing is certain: this winter will be hot or it will not be. This season, if the blue sky is hidden under the gray, there will always be our clothes to remind us of the colors of spring. But the palette also reveals autumnal nuances that we love.

Vibrant and pastel colors brighten up the season and stand out as accessories or as a total look. Pink, yellow, and red, already present last season, will be back again. Chick yellow on our winter sweaters, fuchsia pink on our dresses, and bright red on the pantsuits—fans of spicy colors will be delighted.

Hermetics with pop colors can fall back on brown and camel, brighter than gray, and less committed than canary yellow. Winter will also give pride of place to pastel shades with powder pink, nude beige, and ecru.

And then there remains the “rust” color, a great fall classic and already omnipresent last season. Between saffron and red, this shade typical of 70s fashion will be one of the colors to adopt, alongside pine green and purple.

The check clings to the pieces of our wardrobe and is reinvented in pink, yellow, or blue on pantsuits and mid-season jackets. It is also found in fashion accessories such as shoes and handbags.

Like every season, you will find the flower print. As popular as the little black dress, the floral pattern is back this season in a mini version on long dresses, bohemian blouses, and midi skirts.

Leather, for its part, doesn’t do things by halves and can be worn as a total look. Signature black color or softer camel, smooth or aged leather is essential on jumpsuits, trench coats, slim pants but also trendy overshirts. We mix everything and we obtain an all-over leather look.

Designers are also taking advantage of the fall-winter 2024–2025 collections to put the tight sweater dress back in the spotlight. Result? The colorful knit models are piled up and adorned with asymmetrical cutouts, to combine comfort and style.

And then, the faux fur. The fall-winter season welcomes it with open arms. A short jacket or an oversized coat will be essential to warm up our looks. It also makes a statement with small touches on sleeves, a collar, or shoes.

Fringes will also be there, on the ends of sleeves or around a shirt collar but also on our accessories, from heeled sandals to mini bags. Feathers will also be a fashion detail to adopt around a collar on the sleeves of a coat or covering a shirt.

What will be the trendy accessories for fall and winter 2024–2025?

Fashion Week fashion shows are also an opportunity to discover the accessories that will accompany us next season and enhance our winter looks.

In the shoe department, we are not likely to be disappointed. The creators have something for everyone. Metallic thigh-high boots, heeled sandals, chunky boots and white ankle boots, among many others, will be the most popular pairs of the season.

When it comes to bags and clutches, it’s time to go mini with cute models that can be worn over the shoulder. On the other side of the spectrum, we also find the XXL bag capable of holding all our essentials and more.

For the fall/winter 2024-2025 season, XXL belts are everywhere, and master the oversized cuts of coats, jackets, and sweater dresses. In the jewelry department, extra-large is still in the spotlight with dangling rhinestone earrings, stacked bracelets, and gold chain necklaces.

Another accessory that is likely to be talked about all winter is the balaclava. We find it embroidered or in plain knit on the catwalk, and we must say that it catches our eye. We also spotted (and loved) the colorful long gloves, which bring a retro spirit to our winter silhouettes. Also, note the long leather gloves spotted en masse on the catwalks.
