Waxing eyebrows is no easy task. It’s even quite an art. To learn how to pluck your eyebrows properly, we give you the best advice. Restructuring for a perfect line, good gestures to learn how to wax yourself—we tell you everything to have perfect eyebrows.
Having perfectly plucked eyebrows is often complicated. At least, that’s what we think. But in reality, having perfect eyebrows is not mission impossible. You need to know how to go about it and what good actions to take. So to enlighten us, we met Florence Temim, director of the Atelier du Boudoir, entirely dedicated to the beauty of the eyes.
Waxing Eyebrows in the institute
In the institute, the beautician can offer you eyebrow restructuring. Eyebrow restructuring means having a pretty eyebrow line, always in line with the shape of your face and your eyes.
To do this, the beautician who carries out the restructuring must redraw the eyebrows by taking “measurements” from the beginning, end, and arch of the eyebrow (the highest point, the famous circumflex accent of the eyebrow). Once the eyebrow line is defined, all that remains is to remove hair according to the chosen method.
Most often, institutes offer eyebrow hair removal using waxing or threading, finishing with a hair removal battery.
What methods do you use to waxing eyebrows at home?
Be aware that eyebrow hair removal is delicate and as with the lips (the famous mustache hair removal!), the area is particularly sensitive. For what? Because the skin in these areas is very thin.
- Threading hair removal
The least painful method of hair removal—and therefore the one that best suits the most relaxed among us—is threading hair removal, now perfectly democratized.
Carried out by expert hands, especially if you have 2 left hands, the hair removal technique consists of pulling out the hairs with a long, thin wire.
- Hair removal with tweezers
Another eyebrow hair removal method that hurts a little more? Hair removal with tweezers. On perfectly cleansed skin and with disinfected tweezers, tweezers are a formidable tool for saying goodbye to hair but temporarily… You must therefore think about touch-ups every 2 days.
The must? Go to the beautician to reshape your eyebrows and then do small touch-ups at home.
- Waxing
Finally, this is the most well-known method of eyebrow hair removal: waxing. This is, by far, the most effective and sustainable method. But it’s also the technique that hurts the most…
There are 2 options to choose from:
- Cold wax hair removal: with small strips adapted to this small area of the eyebrows,
- Hot wax hair removal: with wax to be heated and applied using a stick for a very precise result.
The right steps to pluck your eyebrows correctly
Once again, the restructuring must be done by the beautician to be sure that the shape of your eyebrows will be adapted to your face.
Once you have the line, simply pluck and maintain your eyebrows at home.
- Sit comfortably in front of a mirror and in a place with natural daylight.
- Stretch the skin as much as possible to dislodge the small hairs to be eradicated and, above all, to avoid pain when pulling out the hair.
- Always epilate in the direction of hair growth.
- Remember to wax on and under the eyebrow.
- If you have long and dense eyebrows: trim them to have a regular line. To do this, brush the eyebrows and cut them using a small scissor from the outer tip towards the inside.
- If any gaps remain, fill them in with an eyebrow pencil of the same color as your natural eyebrows.
If you missed eyebrow hair removal, your first instinct is to go to an institute. Only a professional can repair the damage.
Plucking your waxing eyebrows painlessly
There are a few tips to ease the pain of eyebrow waxing at home.
- Remove hair right after showering, once the pores on your skin are enlarged. This way, the hairs will be removed more easily and, therefore, without pain.
- Before plucking your eyebrows, run an ice cube over them to “anesthetize” the area and numb it.
- Just after hair removal, apply an aloe vera treatment to soothe the pain.
There you have it, with all these tips, and eyebrows that go straight!
And if you have any doubts, we will teach you how to properly pluck your eyebrows according to the shape of your face.
We tend to overlook the eyebrows, yet the eyebrows are the key point of our face. They play an important role in facial expression, highlighting the eyes and easy eye makeup. The eyebrow waxing expands and enhances the look. Eyebrows are plucked very clearly and give character to the face.
Always begin the eyebrow by taking some steps to define the line of the eyebrows. Plucked eyebrows, too, will always give you an air of astonishment.
Waxing Eyebrows Can I Get After Tanning
However, eyebrows that are too thick will make your eyes drop.
Use the “handle end of a toothbrush or eyebrow brush” to take the right measurements. In front of a mirror; put an end to the base of the nostril, and walk along the inner corner of the eye and eyebrow to finish. The meeting point “shaft/eyebrows” determines the starting point of the eyebrow line. Everything that is outside the handle is removed. If the handle and eyebrows do not touch, the head is too waxed.
Then start by placing the pencil at the base of the nostril but this time joining the outer corner of the eye to finish the eyebrow, so you get the right length.
Finally, know the size of the heads of the eyebrows. Look straight ahead and take the iris as the “limit”, We refine the eyebrow line from the middle to the outer tip of the eyebrow.
Mark these benchmarks with a Kohl pencil.
You can now start waxing; you must stretch the skin between your fingers and pull, with tweezers, a hair in the direction of the shoot, Do a BDS movement by precise and dry, grabbing the hair closest to the root to prevent it from breaking. Start with the above reference point of the iris.
The hair between the eyebrows is still out but be careful not to pluck beyond the starting line. Then you have a slightly rounded “head” of the eyebrow to give it a slightly rounded shape without too much refinement. You must have a head with thick eyebrows refined gradually to the tip.
The thickness depends on the original size of the eyebrows. Do not hesitate to depilatory eyebrows from above, cleaning this area of the eyebrows; add value to your eyebrows.
Finally, brush your eyebrows to replace them.
You can make minor edits: If you have eyebrows too short, extend them with a touch of an eyebrow pencil. If you have plucked your eyebrows, you can correct them with a makeup eyebrow pencil too.
If you have an exit plan, tweeze your eyebrows the day before because, after waxing, your skin tends to blush a little.
You can also pluck your eyebrows with wax. The result is remarkable; it also removes the finest duvets. This technique is fast but requires a lot of precision. Use warm wax because the skin is too fragile and sensitive to apply hot wax, besides the risk of spilling hot wax in her eyes. (Recipe for yourself the wax)
Waxing Eyebrows: 3 Easy Steps!
Want to pluck your eyebrows but are worried about missteps?
Be confident: you can have beautiful eyebrows in just 3 easy steps. The important thing is not to modify their natural line too much!
HERE ARE THE ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR ACHIEVING BEAUTIFUL HAIR REMOVAL:
- an eyebrow pencil or powder shadow;
- a white pencil
- a pre-hair removal cream (or gel)
- tweezers
- an eyebrow comb
- a gel definition
STEP 1: DEFINE Waxing Eyebrows
Before starting hair removal, you absolutely must define the ideal shape of your eyebrows. Here’s how.
- Take the eyebrow pencil and place it vertically, against the side of your nose. The pencil should pass over the inner corner of your eye and reach your eyebrow. This is where your eyebrow line should begin. With a white pencil, this time, draw a point at this location.
- Swirl the eyebrow pencil against your nose toward the outer corner of your eye. The pencil is then at an angle. It touches your nose, passes over the corner of your eye, and stops at the eyebrow. This is where your eyebrows should end. Take your white pencil and make a new mark.
- To define the arch, look straight ahead, then rotate the brow pencil to align it with the outside of your iris. Make a mark with the white pencil where the tip of the pencil crosses the eyebrow.
Define your eyebrow line by connecting the three points you have drawn and trace the outline of your eyebrow with the white pencil. If you are afraid that hair removal will be too painful, put some pre-hair removal gel on your skin.
There you go: You are now ready to move on to hair removal!
STEP 2: HAIR REMOVAL & Waxing Eyebrows
Pluck all the hairs that are above and below the line you drew with the white pencil. Be precise, and don’t touch the hairs above the eyebrows.
To know!
The ideal way to pluck eyebrows is to use beveled tweezers.
STEP 3: Reach
If you have removed too much hair, use a pencil of the same color as your eyebrows to redraw them. You could also use a powder shadow if that suits you better.
Finish it all off by brushing the eyebrows upwards to blend the color. For an impeccable look, discipline unruly hair with a definition gel.
To know!
Your skin will probably be reddened by hair removal. So plan your hair removal session the day before your outing…
